ASR Approves Several Resolutions

0

ASR considered and voted to approve three separate resolutions on Wednesday, February 10, 2010. These resolutions have been posted to the "Documents" portion of this Web site under the "Resolutions" category, or, alternatively, may be reached by clicking on their names below. These resolutions conclude, as follows:

1. Smoking resolution - ASR recommends that Trinity and Residential Life ban smoking from within 15 feet of building entrances around campus.

2. Dining contract resolution - ASR recommends that Trinity and Aramark disclose the dining services contract to ASR for review and further discussions and recommendations.

3. Diploma resolution - ASR recommends that the phrase "of our Lord" be removed from the Trinity diploma to reflect a more tolerant and diverse culture.

In addition to these resolutions, Senator Alexander Bacon has followed up on complaints by students that it is, at times, difficult to find computers in the library in order to print off papers. In response to this complaint, Bacon found that by directing one's browser to http://web.trinity.edu/x131.xml and following the links provided, one may install printer drivers and software to allow printing from one's personal computer (which must be connected to the TU network). Thanks to Senator Bacon for this discovery!

If you have any other issues that you would like addressed by ASR, please get in contact with a Senator, and we will do our best to help you out! Senators may be found on the members page.
